Altihut 3014 - Who we are
Altihut 3014 - Who we are

We are just a bunch of eccentric Earthlings, captivated by the idea of Altihut — a concept born from a profound love for nature and a deep sense of responsibility toward our planet. Altihut seeks to balance the joy of the moment with awareness of the footprints we leave behind. Too often, our journeys risk forgetting what truly matters. We’re here to change that. By treading lightly and thinking ahead, we hope to make each day brighter, not just for ourselves, but for those we may never meet, who share this fragile, beautiful world with us.

The Earth is what we all have in commonWendell Berry

Over billions of years, Earth has survived ice ages, asteroid hits, and the occasional rampaging dinosaur. Yet, in just a blink of geological time, roughly two centuries we humans have managed to warm it up, clutter it with waste, and trigger a planetary crisis of our own making and aplauding ourselves.

How on Earth (at 3,014 m) Did They Pull This Off?

The High Altitude Dreamers of Altihut 3014.
The last time anyone dared to build something above 3,000 meters in the Greater Caucasus was back in the 1940s. That was during the darkest chapter of Georgia’s modern history, when the country was under the iron grip of the Soviet Union, the so-called empire of evil. It was Lavrenty Beria, head of Stalin’s infamous NKVD, who ordered the construction of the Meteo Station (now the Bethlemi Hut) at 3,700 meters, more fortress than refuge, built by forced labor in brutal conditions.

Be a better version of yourself

"And then, unexpectedly, an odd plant of love blossomed in my soul; can guess which one?
Poppy! No, it wilts too quickly! Angelonia! No,Too delicate. Dahlia! no, It’s too showy. A rose? No, too conventional...So, what is it?
And suddenly, an odd plant blossomed in my soul, the Cactus of Love, thorny and spiky, yet every prick was incredibly sweet and delightful. And even now, as I look at you, it pricks me, and if you only knew how much I love you..."

Keeping adventure lovers connected on Alpine heights, Since Altihut.

Where the trail meets the sky and phone signals vanish, the Altihut team stepped up and keeps you covered. Without any external funding, we transported and installed passive and active antennas at over 3,000 meters above sea, extending GSM coverage deep into the highlands and significantly improving safety for hikers, climbers, and adventurers en route to Mount Kazbeg’s 5,054 meter summit. To this day, the active antenna is powered entirely by Altihut’s own electricity supply keeping the signal strong, the mountains safer, and peace of mind alive at high altitude. Because here, connection isn’t just about sharing the view. It’s about saving lives and staying safe.

P.S.
Plan your summit responsibly. Let certified and experienced guides lead your way to the heights of Kazbegi 5054m.
